Equipment for people with ALS can be very expensive. Through the Equipment Loan Program, Texans with ALS have access to the equipment you need to stay mobile, communicate, and navigate everyday tasks safely. We provide equipment such as wheelchairs, speech-generating devices, and Hoyer lifts free to people with ALS, alleviating a financial burden.
The ALS Association is deeply concerned and disappointed about the delay in FY24 government funding. ALS research needs to be funded and increased—NOW. People living with ALS cannot wait. We call upon policymakers to prioritize ALS research and swiftly appropriate the necessary funds to support innovative research initiatives, clinical trials and the development of potential treatments.
While veterans with ALS are entitled to benefits, they don't always receive them. But Earnest Hill, former member of the U.S. Air Force, is dedicating his life to changing that.
