The ALS Association is concerned that ICER’s review of AMX0035 could be used by public and private health care payers to restrict access to a promising new drug based on a pricing methodology that is discriminatory, particularly against people with debilitating illnesses and severe disabilities.
What is ICER?
The Institute for Clinical and Economic Review (ICER) is a private, nonprofit organization that performs cost-effectiveness analyses of drugs. ICER focuses primarily on new-to-market or soon-to-market treatments. The goal of ICER analyses is to see if a drug’s benefit to patients aligns with its cost and its value to the health care system overall.

We need to stand up and object to discriminatory assessments that overlook the most important things that give life value.
