Danielle Boisvert’s connection to ALS began when her father was diagnosed with the disease in 2015. She served as his caregiver until his death in 2019. This personal experience, coupled with her doctoral work on the impact of chronic diseases on families, provides Danielle with a multifaceted perspective, which she brings to the ALS Association board.

Danielle is an Integrated Behavioral Health Clinician in pediatrics and internal medicine at LifeStance Health. Her doctoral internship was completed at the Chicago Center for Family Health, specializing in families, illness, and health.

Danielle has authored publications such as “Caring for the Caregiver” in Pathy’s Principles and Practice of Geriatric Medicine and “Minding the Family: Systemic Family Therapy Approaches to Neurological Disorders” in the Handbook of Systemic Family Therapy.

Danielle graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Wagner College, earned her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fairfield University, and achieved her Ph.D. in Medical Family Therapy from Saint Louis University, with a focus on helping families, couples, and individuals cope with chronic health conditions.

Danielle currently lives in Rhode Island with her Fiancée, Gabe, and French bulldog, Travis. In her free time she enjoys traveling, reading, and trying new restaurants.
