Cameron C. Ward

Professional Position: Attorney
Company: Dannis Woliver Kelley
Location: San Francisco, California

Born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Cameron Ward began practicing law in 1976.  His wife Kathryn’s information technology career led them to California in 1988.  Cameron established a career litigating construction and environmental matters, now exclusively on behalf of school and community college districts.

Kathryn lost a nine-month battle with ALS in 2003.  In response, Cameron joined the Board of the Greater Bay Area Chapter based in San Francisco in 2005.  Spurred by the challenges of the recession and the need to scale up to meet the increasing needs of the ALS community, Cameron helped lead the merger of the Greater Bay Area and Greater Los Angeles Chapters.  The resulting Golden West Chapter has become one of the largest and most successful chapters in The Association and consistently plays a leadership role.

Cameron spent four years as the Golden West Chapter’s first Board Chair, and he continues to serve on the Board.  Cameron served on The ALS Association’s Funding Model Task Force and Strategic Planning and Finance Committees.  Cameron was the Golden West Chapter’s Alternate Voting Representative on the Board of Representatives.

Cameron studied at the University of Alberta, receiving a BA in political science and history and a law degree in 1975.  He and his wife, Barbara, love to spend time with their four grown children and one grandchild.  In addition to their family and friends, Cameron and Barbara enjoy healthy living, hiking, and global travel.
